Moving in Wilmington depends on the neighborhood. Downtown and the historic district have narrow streets, limited parking, and older homes with steep staircases and small doorways. The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge (US 17/76/421) is a vertical-lift bridge that raises for ship traffic, and I-140 was built to relieve congestion on Market Street and that bridge, so we route trucks around peak times and use I-140 when it saves time.
