Hyde Park is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the City of Tampa, just across the Hillsborough River from downtown. It grew in the 1880s after Henry B. Plant built the first bridge over the river, and it runs roughly from Kennedy Boulevard south to Bayshore Boulevard and west to Armenia Avenue. Much of the neighborhood is part of the Hyde Park Historic District, full of early 1900s bungalows, big two-story homes with wide porches, and old oak trees. Those homes are beautiful but can be tricky on moving day. Narrow streets, brick roads, street parking on both sides, low tree limbs, and tight front steps all affect where a truck can park and how fast we can load. We scout the street ahead of time and bring the right truck. If needed, we will use a smaller truck or a short shuttle so your move is not stuck at the end of the block.

Hyde Park also has newer apartments and condos around Hyde Park Village and Swann Avenue, plus high-rise condos facing Bayshore Boulevard. Those buildings often need an elevator reservation and a certificate of insurance before we arrive. For older homes with antiques, artwork, and built-in charm, our packing and unpacking team wraps fragile pieces with care and protects wood floors and door frames. We also take apart and reassemble beds, tables, and large pieces that will not fit through older, narrower doorways.

Weekends are busy here. Shoppers fill Hyde Park Village, and the bars and restaurants on South Howard Avenue, known as SoHo, bring crowds and tight parking at night. We schedule loading for quieter hours when we can. Summer afternoons often bring quick thunderstorms, so we start early and keep boxes covered. The payoff is a great place to live, with Bayshore Boulevard’s long waterfront sidewalk, Kate Jackson Park, and downtown a few minutes away.
