Best Temple Terrace, FL Moving Company
Temple Terrace is a small city on the Hillsborough River just northeast of Tampa, and our Tampa crew moves families, students, and retirees here all the time. The City of Temple Terrace started in the 1920s as one of the first planned golf-course communities in the country. You can still see that history in the Mediterranean Revival homes around the Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club. Most of the city lies east of 56th Street along Fowler Avenue and Bullard Parkway, so our crew can reach it easily from I-75 or I-275.
The housing mix is wide. The older streets near the golf course and the river have 1920s homes, mid-century ranch houses, and thick oak canopies that can block a tall truck. Along 56th Street and Fowler Avenue there are many apartment and condo complexes close to USF, with stairs, tight parking lots, and office rules on move times. Some older homes also have narrow driveways or steps up to the front door, and we bring the right dollies and ramps for those. We check all of that before moving day so nothing slows us down.
Late summer and spring are busy here because of the University of South Florida and Florida College calendars. If you are moving an apartment or your first house, we can send a small crew and a truck sized for the job. For bigger homes, we can pack only the fragile items or the whole house, and we take apart beds and tables and put them back together. We also offer packing and unpacking for people who would rather not spend the weekend taping boxes.
Life in Temple Terrace is easy to like. You can walk Woodmont Park, paddle the Hillsborough River, grab Russian food at Babushka’s or fresh fish at Half Moon Seafood Co. on 56th Street, and still be a short drive from downtown Tampa. Florida College, the city library, and neighborhood parks are all part of daily life here. Just plan for Florida weather. Summer storms roll in most afternoons, so we wrap furniture and protect floors on every job.
We also serve nearby Thonotosassa and East Lake, plus the rest of Tampa and Hillsborough County. Family-owned since 2015, A & M Friendly Movers treats every Temple Terrace move like we are moving our own neighbors. Our mission is simple: quality, professional service at a fair price. Home is where the heart is, and moving is where it starts. Call 813-544-0048 for a free quote.

“Excellent experience! We have moved 11 times and once overseas and A&M is in the top two moves! They communicate well and there are no curveballs. Chris, Zack & “Ox” were hard working, courteous and professional. They moved us quickly and took great care with our property. When initially speaking with Matt, he realized I was a Veteran and he immediately offered a Veteran’s discount. I would highly recommend A&M Friendly Movers because they live their name!”

Moving in Temple Terrace: Local Tips From Our Crew
Parking, trash pickup, traffic and building rules can make or break moving day in Temple Terrace. Here’s what we plan around.
Leave the trash cart
Temple Terrace carts belong to the address and must stay with the house. If you take yours, the city adds a penalty charge to your final bill.
Use the free bulk pickup
The city offers a free bulk pickup once a year for most residents with an active utility account. Set items within 10 feet of the curb, not in the street or under wires, then call Public Works at (813) 506-6570.
Know the cart schedule
Temple Terrace is incorporated, so trash comes from the city, not the county. Trash is picked up twice a week, carts go within 5 feet of the curb the night before and come in by sunset, and yard waste goes out on Wednesdays.
Avoid USF move weeks
USF housing opens for fall 2026 on Aug. 20 and closes Dec. 11 and May 7, 2027. More than 6,500 students living on campus means crowded roads and apartment complexes around those dates.
Protect historic homes
Temple Terrace has one of the country’s first planned golf-course communities (1920) and dozens of 1920s Mediterranean Revival homes. Let us know if you’re in a historic house so we can plan floor and doorway protection.
What Shapes Your Temple Terrace Move Cost
No surprises. Here is exactly what goes into your quote, so you can plan with confidence.
Home Size
How many rooms and how much furniture. A condo and a four-bedroom house are very different jobs.
Distance
Across town, across Hillsborough County, or out of state. Local moves are hourly; long-distance moves are priced upfront.
Access
Low oak canopies on older streets, apartment stairs and parking near USF, and traffic on 56th Street and Fowler Avenue affect move time most.
Add-Ons
Packing, storage, furniture assembly, and heavy items like pianos and safes.
