Typical Local Move Times by Home Size
These are typical ranges for a local move. They include loading, driving between homes, unloading, and taking apart and putting back together your furniture. Your clock starts when we arrive at your home.

- Stairs, long hallways or a long walk from the door to the truck
- Items still being packed when the crew arrives
- Lots of small loose items like decor, garage tools and plants
- Heavy or specialty pieces such as pianos, safes, pool tables and armoires
- Longer drives between your old home and your new one
- Weather, traffic and building rules, like elevator time slots

Usually 5 to 8 hours with 3 to 4 movers for a local move. Packing ahead, easy access and a short drive keep it on the faster end.
Usually 2 to 4 hours with 2 movers. Stairs, elevators and parking distance can add time.
Usually, yes. A bigger crew finishes sooner, which can make the total cost about the same or even lower. We’ll recommend the crew size that makes sense for your home.
Yes. The drive from your old home to your new home is part of the move. The drive from our office to your home is not charged.
Large homes, or moves with full packing, sometimes take two days. We’ll tell you ahead of time if we think yours will.
