Calabash, NC Movers

Calabash is home base for the A & M Friendly Movers coast crew. Our trucks start the day here and head out to 20 towns, from Carolina Shores up to Wilmington. This little town on the Calabash River, right at the South Carolina line, is famous for its fried seafood, and it has grown into a favorite spot for retirees and families alike.

Homes in Calabash are a mix. Near the waterfront on River Road you will find older cottages and small homes on tight lots, a few steps from the docks and the seafood restaurants. Off NC 179 and US 17 there are newer single-family homes, golf communities, and gated neighborhoods like Kingfish Bay. Many of those neighborhoods have HOA rules about truck parking, work hours, and portable storage units. We ask about those rules up front and plan the day around them.

Traffic matters here too. Beach Drive gets busy in summer, and the waterfront lots fill up at dinner time when visitors line up for Calabash-style seafood. We schedule early starts and plan where the truck will park so we are not blocking a restaurant lot or a neighbor’s driveway. Many of the homes we move are one story, but raised homes with long outside stairs are common near the water, and we bring the right crew size for them.

A lot of our Calabash customers are downsizing, moving in from out of state, or moving a parent closer to family. We handle full-house moves, partial moves, and furniture-only jobs. We can pack the whole kitchen or just the fragile pieces, take beds apart, and set them up again in the new place.
