Best Holden Beach, NC Moving Company

Holden Beach calls itself a family beach, and it lives up to the name with quiet streets, a busy summer rental season, and a strong year-round community. It is about 20 miles from our Calabash base, and our crews are on the island regularly for homeowners, second-home buyers, and rental owners.

Everything on Holden Beach goes over the high-rise bridge from the mainland, so we plan island moves around traffic, especially on summer Saturdays when rental turnover fills the road. Most island homes are raised on pilings with outdoor stairs, and many come fully furnished. We are often hired to clear out old rental furniture and bring in new sets before the season starts.

On the mainland side, near Supply and the NC-130 corridor, you will find newer neighborhoods with HOA rules. We work around parking and time restrictions so your move goes smoothly.

Holden Beach has a loyal crowd of families who have vacationed here for generations and finally decide to move here for good. We love those moves. Whether you are bringing your whole household down from out of state or just the heirloom pieces, we treat every item like it matters, because it does.

We also cover nearby Supply, Shallotte, and Oak Island. Want us to handle the boxes too? Ask about our packing services. Family-owned since 2015, A & M Friendly Movers is the local team that knows island moves. Our mission is simple: quality, professional service at a fair price. Home is where the heart is, and moving is where it starts. Call 910-758-0081 for your free quote.

Moving in Holden Beach: Local Tips From Our Crew

Parking, trash pickup, traffic and building rules can make or break moving day in Holden Beach. Here’s what we plan around.

Know the trash days

Trash is picked up every Tuesday from October to May, and Tuesdays and Saturdays from the Saturday before Memorial Day through September. Carts must be at the curb by 6 a.m. with trash bagged.

Supply drop-off center

Brunswick County’s convenience center at 1709 Oxpen Road in Supply is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Large items and extra trash aren’t collected curbside.

No right-of-way parking

Holden Beach doesn’t allow parking on streets or rights-of-way except in marked Pay-to-Park spaces, which are enforced 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Let us know where the truck can park before move day.

Bridge closes in storms

The bridge closes to all traffic when sustained winds hit 45 mph. When re-entry is limited to property owners, you’ll need your town vehicle decal to get back on the island.

Yard debris schedule

Yard debris is picked up on the second and fourth Fridays of March, April, May, October, November and December, up to ten items per home in non-plastic bags.

What Shapes Your Holden Beach Move Cost

No surprises. Here is exactly what goes into your quote, so you can plan with confidence.

Home Size

How many rooms and how much furniture. A condo and a four-bedroom house are very different jobs.

Distance

Across town, across Brunswick County, or out of state. Local moves are hourly; long-distance moves are priced upfront.

Access

The island is reached by one high-rise bridge, and most homes sit on pilings with outside stairs, so summer rental turnover days and carrying distance add time.

Add-Ons

Packing, storage, furniture assembly, and heavy items like pianos and safes.
