PRICING GUIDE
Why Some Movers Seem Cheaper
A low quote feels great until moving day. Here is how the lowest number can turn into the highest bill, and what to check so you compare movers fairly.
A Low Quote Is Not the Same as a Low Price
The number on the first page of a quote and the number on your final invoice can be very different. What matters is what the price includes, how it is calculated, and what can change it.
How a Quote Can Grow
Before you book, ask whether any of these could apply:
- Charging for the drive to your home or back to the office
- Rounding up to the next full hour
- High minimums or trip fees
- Extra fees for stairs, long carries or heavy items
- Charges for wrapping, padding or taking furniture apart
- Estimates that are not binding on long-distance moves
- Shared trucks with wide delivery windows, so your things arrive when the load does
- Payment demands before the work is done
How We Keep It Simple
- Our clock starts when we arrive. We never bill you for the drive.
- We bill in 15-minute increments, not rounded up to the hour.
- Taking apart and putting back together furniture, plus wrapping and padding, is included.
- Your crew is licensed, insured, background-checked W-2 employees.
- Long-distance moves get a binding estimate, your own truck and a guaranteed delivery date.
- Free rescheduling, for any reason.

How to Compare Movers Fairly
| Ask Each Mover | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Is the estimate in writing, and is it binding? | Verbal or non-binding estimates can change. |
| When does the clock start and stop? | Travel time can add up. |
| What is the minimum and the billing increment? | Rounding can add real hours. |
| What is included, and what costs extra? | Wrapping, assembly and stairs are common add-ons. |
| Who is on my crew? | Employees are accountable. Day labor is not. |
| What coverage is included? | See moving valuation coverage. |
Warning Signs
- No license or USDOT number you can look up
- No written estimate, or a long-distance price given sight unseen
- A large deposit required up front
- Reluctance to say who will do the work
- Reviews that are all brand new or all identical
