Parking, trash pickup, traffic and building rules can make or break moving day in Surfside Beach. Here’s what we plan around.
Monday bulk pickup
Surfside Beach collects residential bulk items on Mondays. Paint, tires, electronics and hazardous chemicals are not accepted.
Friday recycling
Recyclables are collected on Fridays throughout town and must go unbagged into the town’s blue cart. Carts are free; call Public Works at 843-913-6360 if you don’t have one.
Paid parking season
Town lots charge for parking from March 1 through October 31, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and are free outside those hours. Don’t park within 10 feet of a beach access or driveway, and keep all wheels off the pavement.
Rental turnover days
From the second Sunday in May through the first Sunday after Labor Day, short-term rentals in the R-3 and C-3 districts get trash pickup on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Expect busy streets on turnover days.
Tires go to Scipio Lane
Tires can’t go curbside. Take them to the Solid Waste Authority convenience center at 9610 Scipio Lane, open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
