Best Winnabow, NC Moving Company
Winnabow is a rural community along NC-133 in northeastern Brunswick County, about 45 miles from our Calabash base. It is home to Orton Plantation’s gardens and the Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson State Historic Site, and it offers wide-open land and privacy while staying close to Leland, Southport, and Wilmington.
Moving in Winnabow often means rural properties with long driveways, farm buildings, workshops, and larger homes on big lots. Newer subdivisions are also going up along the US-17 corridor. We plan for gravel and dirt driveways, soft ground after rain, and heavy items like safes, tools, and outdoor equipment.
Many families here are moving up from smaller homes in Wilmington or Leland to get more space. We help with full-home moves, storage between homes, and partial moves when only part of the household is going.
Residents enjoy the quiet, the history, and the easy drive to the river and beaches. It is a place where people put down roots, and we are glad to help you do the same.
Because Winnabow sits between Leland and Southport, we can often pair your move with pickups or drop-offs in either town, which helps if you are clearing out a storage unit or collecting furniture from family nearby. Just let us know when you call, and we will build it into your quote.
From Winnabow we also serve Leland, Boiling Spring Lakes, and Bolivia. Family-owned since 2015, A & M Friendly Movers is ready for rural moves. Our mission is simple: quality, professional service at a fair price. Home is where the heart is, and moving is where it starts. Call 910-758-0081 for a free quote.

Moving in Winnabow: Local Tips From Our Crew
Parking, trash pickup, traffic and building rules can make or break moving day in Winnabow. Here’s what we plan around.
Expect rural addresses
Winnabow is an unincorporated farming community with no large retail presence. If your home has a long or unpaved driveway, tell us when you book.
Use I-140 north
I-140’s western end is at US 17 just north of Winnabow, giving a direct freeway route around Wilmington to US 74/76 and US 421.
Bag trash for pickup
Brunswick County curbside service uses a 96-gallon cart that must be at the curb by 6 a.m. on collection day, and all trash in it must be bagged. Call GFL Environmental at 910-253-4177 to find your collection day.
Pick a drop-off center
Large items and extra trash aren’t collected curbside. County convenience centers nearest Winnabow are at 9921 Chappell Loop Road SE in Leland and 8392 River Road SE in Southport. Brunswick County convenience centers are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and take Brunswick County residential waste only.
Bolivia landfill option
Trucks larger than a standard pickup can’t use the convenience centers and must go to the Brunswick County Landfill at 172 Landfill Road NE in Bolivia, open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
What Shapes Your Winnabow Move Cost
No surprises. Here is exactly what goes into your quote, so you can plan with confidence.
Home Size
How many rooms and how much furniture. A condo and a four-bedroom house are very different jobs.
Distance
Across town, across Brunswick County, or out of state. Local moves are hourly; long-distance moves are priced upfront.
Access
Rural Winnabow homes can have long, narrow or unpaved driveways and sit well off US 17 or NC 133, which affects truck access and drive time.
Add-Ons
Packing, storage, furniture assembly, and heavy items like pianos and safes.
