Best Ballast Point, FL Moving Company
Ballast Point is a South Tampa neighborhood in the City of Tampa, south of Gandy Boulevard between Hillsborough Bay and MacDill Avenue, with MacDill Air Force Base at its southern edge. It covers about 1.7 square miles in ZIP 33611. Its history goes back to the Civil War, when Union troops came ashore here in 1863. Today our Tampa crew moves families in and out of these quiet, oak-shaded streets all the time. Ballast Point Park sits right on the bay off Interbay Boulevard.
Most homes are single-family houses on regular lots, from older one-story block homes to new two-story builds, with some homes right along Bayshore Boulevard and the water. Big oak trees with Spanish moss line many streets, which looks great but can limit where a tall truck can park. We check your street ahead of time, protect floors and door frames, and take apart beds and tables when needed. Ballast Point Elementary, Madison Middle and Robinson High School serve the neighborhood, and Robinson offers an International Baccalaureate program.
Military moves are a big part of life here. With MacDill Air Force Base right next door, military families often have to move on short notice when orders come in. We help with military moves, both local and long-distance, and we can work around report dates and base housing checkout times. If you are moving to another state, our long-distance crews can take your things all the way. We also do partial moves if you only need help with the big pieces.
Living near the bay also means planning for weather. Summer brings heat and quick afternoon storms, so we start early and keep furniture wrapped. Hurricane season runs June through November, and low areas near the water can flood in storm surge. Ballast Point Park, the neighborhood’s bayfront park, is still recovering from Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and its fishing pier has been closed since spring 2025. We will keep you posted if a storm affects your moving date.
We serve all of South Tampa, including Bayshore Beautiful just to the north and Interbay to the west. Whether you are moving across Gandy Boulevard or across the country, we will treat your home with care. A & M Friendly Movers is family-owned since 2015. Our mission is simple: quality, professional service at a fair price. Home is where the heart is, and moving is where it starts. Call 813-544-0048 for a free quote.

“Excellent experience! We have moved 11 times and once overseas and A&M is in the top two moves! They communicate well and there are no curveballs. Chris, Zack & “Ox” were hard working, courteous and professional. They moved us quickly and took great care with our property. When initially speaking with Matt, he realized I was a Veteran and he immediately offered a Veteran’s discount. I would highly recommend A&M Friendly Movers because they live their name!”

Get a re-entry hang tag

Mind the oak canopy
