Best Myrtle Beach, SC Moving Company
Myrtle Beach is the hub for our Grand Strand crew. From here we serve 20 South Carolina towns, from North Myrtle Beach down to Georgetown. Myrtle Beach is best known for its beach, its boardwalk, and the SkyWheel, but most of our work here is simple: helping people who live here year-round get from one home to the next. We also help a lot of new residents who are moving down from up north, plus owners moving furniture in or out of a rental condo.
Condo and high-rise moves are a big part of what we do in Myrtle Beach. Along Ocean Boulevard, many buildings ask movers to reserve the freight elevator, show a certificate of insurance, and use a set loading area. Some limit move hours to keep things quiet for guests. We call ahead, get the paperwork in order, and pad the elevator and hallways so the day goes smoothly for you and the building staff. Oceanfront parking is tight, so we plan exactly where the truck will sit before we arrive.
Away from the ocean, the city has a lot of variety. The Market Common, built on the old Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, has townhomes, condos, and single-family homes near shops and parks. Grande Dunes has larger homes near the Intracoastal Waterway, often with HOA rules for trucks. Older neighborhoods between Kings Highway and the Bypass have classic ranch homes with easy driveway access. Across the Intracoastal Waterway, many of our customers are moving to or from Carolina Forest, which means a trip over the US 501 bridge.
Traffic and timing matter here. Kings Highway, the 17 Bypass, and US 501 all get crowded in summer, and event weekends can slow things down even more. We plan routes and start times around that. If you need a place to keep things between homes, we offer storage too, which helps a lot when a closing date or lease end does not line up.
We also move families every week in North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, and Carolina Forest. You can see every town we cover on our SC service area page. A & M Friendly Movers is family-owned since 2015, and we treat your home, whether it is a beach condo or a house on a quiet street, like it is our own. Our mission is simple: quality, professional service at a fair price. Home is where the heart is, and moving is where it starts. Call 910-758-0081 for a free quote.

“Excellent experience! We have moved 11 times and once overseas and A&M is in the top two moves! They communicate well and there are no curveballs. Chris, Zack & “Ox” were hard working, courteous and professional. They moved us quickly and took great care with our property. When initially speaking with Matt, he realized I was a Veteran and he immediately offered a Veteran’s discount. I would highly recommend A&M Friendly Movers because they live their name!”

Moving in Myrtle Beach: Local Tips From Our Crew
Parking, trash pickup, traffic and building rules can make or break moving day in Myrtle Beach. Here’s what we plan around.
Trash & Large Items
Inside city limits, the Myrtle Beach Solid Waste Division picks up appliances, furniture, and boxes or bags of household items with regular garbage. Set them in a neat pile at the curb, 3–5 feet from other items, with no construction debris or toilets (843-918-2160).
Recycling Your Boxes
Break down moving boxes for recycling: the city accepts cardboard boxes once all packaging and tape is removed, and garbage runs Monday–Thursday, 6 a.m.–4 p.m., in four rotating zones (look up your zone on the city’s GIS map).
Parking & Meters
City meters are paid 9 a.m.–midnight every day from March 1 through September 30, and parts of The Avenues (east of Kings Highway, north of 31st Ave N) are decal-only, so plan where the truck will park. New residents can get a free resident parking decal at the Pavilion Parking Garage, 914 N. Kings Highway.
Beach Season Traffic
Beach season runs late April through late October and the area draws over 20 million visitors a year. May Bike Week (about 200,000 visitors) and Memorial Day Black Bike Week (up to 400,000) jam Kings Highway (US 17 Business), the US 17 Bypass, US 501, and SC 31, so avoid those dates if you can.
Condos & Hurricane Season
Most oceanfront condo buildings and HOA communities require an elevator reservation, set move-in hours, and a certificate of insurance, so book these early. Plan around hurricane season too (June 1–Nov 30, peaking around Sept 10) and summer highs of 83–91°F with heavy humidity.
What Shapes Your Myrtle Beach Move Cost
No surprises. Here is exactly what goes into your quote, so you can plan with confidence.
Home Size
How many rooms and how much furniture. A condo and a four-bedroom house are very different jobs.
Distance
Across town, across Horry County, or out of state. Local moves are hourly; long-distance moves are priced upfront.
Access
Condo and high-rise moves depend on freight elevator bookings, insurance certificates, and loading rules, and summer traffic on Kings Highway, the 17 Bypass, and US 501 can add time.
Add-Ons
Packing, storage, furniture assembly, and heavy items like pianos and safes.

Myrtle Beach Neighborhoods We Move
From historic homes to new subdivisions, our crews know the streets, stairs and HOA rules across Myrtle Beach.
Oceanfront / Ocean Boulevard
The beachfront strip, where many of the Grand Strand's estimated 460 hotels and a large share of condo buildings sit, so moves usually involve shared elevators, loading areas, and seasonal paid parking.
The Market Common
Built on the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base (closed 1993). The 3,937-acre site now has more than 1,200 homes, parks, and a walkable retail district.
Carolina Forest
A large planned area west of Myrtle Beach off US 501 (23,342 residents in 2020, up from about 3,400 in 2000) that is mostly newer subdivisions along Carolina Forest Boulevard.
Grande Dunes
An upscale golf community between US 17 and SC 31 with resort and private members' courses opened in 2002.
Pine Lakes
Named city neighborhood around the historic Pine Lakes Country Club (built 1926–27), a long-established golf-course setting.
The Dunes / Arcadian Shores
North-end Myrtle Beach neighborhoods listed among the city's sections, close to the beach and the golf clubs.
Socastee
A large unincorporated community in Horry County (22,213 residents in 2020) with suburban neighborhoods southwest of the city.
Surfside Beach
"The Family Beach" just south of Myrtle Beach, where thousands of homes and condos are owned by non-residents as weekly vacation rentals, so rental turnover days can crowd the streets.
Myrtle Beach Areas We Serve
Oceanfront high-rises
Condo towers along Ocean Boulevard, where moves usually need freight elevator reservations, insurance paperwork, and set loading times.
The Market Common
A newer neighborhood on the old Air Force base with townhomes, condos, and single-family homes near shops and parks.
Grande Dunes
An upscale area near the Intracoastal Waterway with larger homes and condos, often under HOA rules for trucks and move hours.
