Best Wrightsville Beach, NC Moving Company
Wrightsville Beach is a barrier island town just east of Wilmington in New Hanover County. The Town of Wrightsville Beach covers about 4.6 miles of beach plus Harbor Island on the sound side, with Banks Channel running between them. You reach the island over a drawbridge on the Intracoastal Waterway, and that bridge opens for boats on a schedule, which can hold up traffic for a few minutes. Once you are over the bridge, the road runs along the causeway to Harbor Island and then across Banks Channel to the beach strand, so a move here can involve more than one stretch of tight, busy road.
Home values here are high. The median home value is above one million dollars, and about 58 percent of the housing units were vacant in the 2020 Census, so a lot of homes here are second homes or rentals. You will see oceanfront houses on pilings, older cottages, condo buildings near Lumina Avenue, and Harbor Island homes on narrow lots. With homes at this value, we take extra care with padding, floor protection and wrapping, and we are happy to walk through the house with you first to flag anything that needs special handling.
Space is tight on the island. Lots are small, driveways are short, and public parking fills up fast in summer, so we plan where the truck will sit before moving day. Condo buildings often have rules on elevator use and move hours, so check with your association early and let us know what they require. Beach and Causeway traffic is worst on summer weekends, and early morning starts help. Weekday moves in spring and fall are usually the easiest to schedule.
The median age in town is about 58, and many of our Wrightsville Beach moves involve downsizing or a second home. Our packing and unpacking service can handle the whole house or just the art, glassware and breakables. If your closing dates do not match, our storage service can hold your things. From June through November we watch hurricane season, and there is never a fee to reschedule when a storm is coming.
We also move families in Wilmington, Carolina Beach and Hampstead, along with long-distance moves out of the Cape Fear region. Family-owned since 2015, A & M Friendly Movers treats every Wrightsville Beach move like we are helping our own neighbors. Our mission is simple: quality, professional service at a fair price. Home is where the heart is, and moving is where it starts. Call 910-758-0081 for a free quote.
