Hampstead, MD Movers

The Town of Hampstead is a small town in northeastern Carroll County, about 3 miles south of Manchester and 9 miles north of Reisterstown. It grew up along the old Hanover Pike and the Western Maryland Railway, and the restored train station still stands near Main Street. Hampstead has a mix of older homes along Main Street, which is MD 30 Business, and newer subdivisions built on the edges of town. The older houses often have porches, steep front steps and narrow stairs to the second floor. The newer neighborhoods have two-story colonials, split-levels and townhomes. There are also apartments and townhome rentals near the shopping centers, and we plan for shared parking lots and stairs on those jobs. Many families here are moving up from a townhome to a single-family house nearby, and we can often do those short local moves in a single day.

Parking on Main Street can be tight, especially near shops and churches, so we plan where the truck will sit before we arrive. In townhome communities we check HOA rules on truck parking and move hours. When a home has a finished basement or a tight turn at the top of the stairs, we bring the right dollies, pads and tools to take furniture apart and put it back together. Winter moves can bring snow and ice on sloped driveways, so we salt walkways and keep a close watch on the forecast.

The MD 30 bypass runs along the west side of town and connects north to Manchester and south to Reisterstown, and MD 482 and MD 88 lead toward Westminster and Upperco. Morning traffic heading south toward Baltimore can be heavy, so we plan start times around it.
