Moving to Randallstown, MD: Living in Randallstown Guide

Randallstown is a suburban community on the west side of Baltimore County, built around Liberty Road (MD 26). Today it is an unincorporated community of about 34,000 to 36,000 people and it became a majority African American community in the 1990s. As of 2020, 72% of residents were African American.

Randallstown suits homeowners who want a single-family house with a yard, big county parks and fast access to Owings Mills, Pikesville and the Beltway. Nearly three out of four homes are owner-occupied, and the median age is older than the county’s, so many streets are quiet and settled. Moving to Randallstown: Tips From Our Crew

  • Plan around Liberty Road traffic. Liberty Road is the main route in and out of Randallstown and gets busy at rush hour and on weekend afternoons. A mid-morning weekday start is usually the smoothest.
  • Tell us about long driveways and split levels. Many Randallstown homes are single-family houses, and some have long or sloped driveways or split-level floor plans. Let us know when you call so we bring the right truck and equipment.
  • Check HOA and townhome rules. Some Randallstown townhome and condo communities have homeowners association rules about where a moving truck can park and when. Read them before moving day, and ask whether the association needs a certificate of insurance. We provide one at no charge.
  • Downsizing an older family home. With a median age of 46.9, many Randallstown moves involve downsizing after decades in the same house. Start sorting a room at a time a few weeks out. We can haul away what you don’t keep with our junk removal service.
  • Moving from Pennsylvania is interstate. A move from York County down I-83 to Randallstown crosses state lines. Use a mover registered for interstate work.
  • Keep a winter backup date. February averages about 7.4 inches of snow here. If you move between late November and March, choose a backup day. We never charge a rescheduling fee.
