SOUTH-CENTRAL PA DORM MOVERS
College & Dorm Moving in York & South-Central PA
Move-in, move-out and summer storage for students in York, Carlisle, Gettysburg, Elizabethtown and Lancaster.
South-central Pennsylvania is full of college towns. Students head to campuses in York, Carlisle, Gettysburg, Elizabethtown and Lancaster every fall, then pack it all back up in the spring. A & M Friendly Movers helps students and parents with both ends of the year, from our York office in Mount Wolf.
A dorm move looks small until you try to do it in one afternoon with a hatchback. Mini fridges, TVs, bins, a futon and a desk chair add up fast, and move-in weekends mean full parking lots and long carries. Off-campus moves bring their own challenges: older rowhomes and converted houses near campus often have narrow stairs and third-floor bedrooms. We bring the crew and the plan so the family can focus on getting settled.
Every mover is a background-checked, drug-tested W-2 employee, and local moves are priced hourly by crew size. Summer storage is available too, so nothing has to ride home in May. See how our college and dorm moving service works, check out our York movers page, or call 717-844-5125.
Why Students and Parents Choose A & M for Dorm Moves
Trusted People on Campus
Parents want to know who is carrying their student’s things into a residence hall. Every A & M mover is a background-checked, drug-tested W-2 employee, never a subcontractor or day laborer. Our crews are courteous around other families on busy move-in days, and they handle a dorm fridge with the same care as a family heirloom.
Summer Storage Solved
Driving a carload home in May just to drive it back in August rarely makes sense. Our secure storage holds furniture, bins and boxes short term over the summer, and we deliver when the new semester starts. It is especially handy for students moving from a dorm to an off-campus apartment in the fall.
Off-Campus Rowhome Moves
Many upperclass students rent older rowhomes and converted houses near campus in York, Lancaster and Carlisle. Narrow stairs, tight doorways and street parking come with the territory. We take apart bed frames and desks, pad the stairwells and plan truck placement so the move does not tie up the block for hours.
Priced for Students
Local moves are priced hourly by crew size, so a dorm room with a few pieces costs far less than a full house. Request a quote and an owner or our office calls back within 15 minutes, 8am to 8pm. A $100 deposit holds your date and is applied to the move. We accept cards and checks, not cash.
Plans Change, No Fees
Housing assignments shift, roommates change their minds and move-in dates get moved around. At A & M Friendly Movers there is no rescheduling fee, ever, for any reason. Call the office and we will find the next date that works for you and your student, without any penalty or pressure.
Parents Talk to an Owner
Our Owner’s Promise gives families a direct line. You talk to an owner, not a call center. If anything is damaged, an owner calls you the same day, and claims are resolved in 60 to 90 days. It is the accountability you expect from a family business with 850+ Google reviews.
Our College & Dorm Moving Services in South-Central PA
Dorm Move-In and Move-Out
We load your student's things at home, drive them to campus and carry everything into the room, then reverse it at the end of the year. Mini fridges, TVs, bins and furniture are wrapped and handled carefully the whole way.
Off-Campus Apartment Moves
Moving from a residence hall into a rental near campus in Lancaster, York, Carlisle or Gettysburg? We handle tight stairways, furniture assembly and the extra pieces students collect once they have a real living room to fill.
Summer and Semester Storage
Short-term storage with pickup and delivery bridges the gap between spring move-out and fall move-in. Your things stay in our secure storage instead of a crowded family garage, and come back when your student needs them.
Packing and Furniture Assembly
We can pack a dorm or apartment quickly with supplies we bring, and put together or take apart beds, desks and shelving. It helps students juggling final exams and parents coming in from out of state for the day.
South-Central PA College & Dorm Moving FAQs
Our York office in Mount Wolf serves students heading to or leaving schools in York, Carlisle, Gettysburg, Elizabethtown and Lancaster, plus the Harrisburg and Hershey area. We also handle moves from campus back home within the region or out of state. Call and give us the pickup and drop-off addresses to confirm.
Local dorm moves are priced hourly by crew size, so the cost depends on how much your student has and the access at each end. Long-distance moves get a binding estimate that never changes after booking. Request a quote and an owner or our office calls back within 15 minutes, 8am to 8pm.
Every campus sets its own move-in schedule, parking and elevator rules, and they can change from year to year. Check with your student’s housing office for the current details and share them with us when you book. We will plan the crew, timing and truck around those rules so move-in goes smoothly.
Yes. We offer short- and long-term storage with pickup and delivery. We can collect everything at spring move-out, keep it in our secure storage over the summer and deliver it to the new dorm or apartment in the fall. Ask about timing when you call so we can reserve both dates.
Of course. Parents often handle the booking, and that works fine. A $100 deposit reserves the date and is applied to the move, and we accept credit and debit cards, personal checks and certified checks. We do not take cash. Whoever books gets a direct line to our office and an owner.
