Moving to Timonium: Tips From Our Crew
- Check the State Fair calendar. The fair runs around Labor Day and draws huge crowds to York Road. If your move lands in late August or early September, plan around fair days or schedule an early start.
- Avoid I-83 at rush hour. I-83 is the main route between Timonium, Baltimore and Pennsylvania, and it backs up at commuter times. Mid-morning is usually the smoothest window for a moving truck.
- Condo and apartment rules. Many condo and apartment buildings along the York Road corridor set move-in hours and ask you to reserve an elevator or loading area. If they want a certificate of insurance from your mover, we provide it free.
- Townhouse and HOA communities. Some Timonium communities have HOA rules about truck parking and move times. Check with your HOA before moving day so the truck has a legal spot.
- Downsizing? Plan it early. With nearly a quarter of residents 65 or older, many Timonium moves are downsizes. Start sorting a few weeks out, and consider our junk removal or storage for items that won’t fit.
- Keep a winter backup date. February averages about 7 inches of snow. For winter moves, pick a backup day in case roads are icy.
- Pennsylvania to Timonium is an interstate move. A move from York down I-83 crosses a state line, so your mover must be registered with USDOT for interstate work.
Frequently Asked Questions About Moving to Timonium
How much do movers cost in Timonium, MD?
Cost depends on the size of the home, how far you are going, stairs and elevators, packing and the date.
