Mays Chapel is unincorporated, so it is served by the Baltimore County Police Department, headquartered at 700 East Joppa Road in Towson. The department’s website offers police news and local precinct crime blotters, which are the best sources for current information. We did not find a reliable crime rate for the Mays Chapel CDP on its own, so we won’t quote one. Census data does show a very low poverty rate (2.8%) and a high share of long-term homeowners. Moving to Mays Chapel: Tips From Our Crew

  • Check with your HOA or condo board early. If your new home is in an HOA or condo community, ask about move-in hours, where a truck can park and whether they require a certificate of insurance. We provide COIs for buildings and associations free of charge.
  • Downsizing? Start with a floor plan. With more than a quarter of residents 65 or older, plenty of moves here are downsizing moves. Measure the new rooms and decide what furniture fits before move day. What doesn’t fit can go to storage or our junk removal service.
  • Avoid State Fair week if you can. The fair runs about 11 days from late August through Labor Day, and traffic near York Road and the Timonium fairgrounds picks up. If your date falls then, we’ll plan routes and timing around it.
  • Beat the I-83 rush. Weekday rush hours on I-83 and the Beltway slow everything down. A morning start after the peak, or a midweek date, usually means a smoother day.
  • Protect finished floors and banisters. Point out hardwood floors, finished stairways, fragile railings and anything else special during your estimate so the crew plans how to protect them.
  • Book with a team that knows the area. Our movers serving Mays Chapel can plan routes around I-83, York Road and State Fair week so your day runs on schedule.
  • Let an owner plan senior moves. If you’re helping a parent move, tell us. We can pack, move and unpack so the new home is set up the same day, with less stress for everyone.
