YORK APARTMENT MOVERS
Apartment Moving in York & South-Central Pennsylvania
Careful, efficient apartment moves for walk-ups, converted rowhomes and complexes from York to Harrisburg.
Apartments in south-central Pennsylvania come in every shape. There are third-floor walk-ups carved out of old rowhomes in downtown York, Harrisburg and Lancaster, garden-style complexes around Mechanicsburg, Hershey and Hanover, and student rentals near the colleges in Carlisle, Gettysburg, York and Elizabethtown. Each one needs a different plan, and a crew that has seen it before.
A converted rowhome might have a staircase barely wider than a dresser. A complex may have rules about where the truck can park and what hours you can move. College rentals often turn over the same weekend, so every lot and stairwell is busy. Our crews from the York office in Mount Wolf ask about all of this when you book, so there are no surprises when we arrive.
A & M Friendly Movers is family-owned and run by Matthew Treharn and Amber Hallaman, with background-checked, drug-tested W-2 crews and hourly pricing by crew size. Learn more about our apartment moving service, see the full list of towns on our York movers page, or call 717-844-5125.
Why York-Area Renters Choose A & M for Apartment Moves
Built for Walk-Ups
Many apartments in York, Harrisburg and Lancaster sit on the second or third floor of older rowhomes with tight, turning stairways and no elevator. Our crews wrap furniture, pad railings and take pieces apart so they make the turns without gouging walls, which protects both your belongings and your security deposit.
Crews Sized to Fit
A studio does not need the same crew as a three-bedroom townhome. Local apartment moves are priced hourly by crew size, and we match the crew to your unit and the stairs involved. You get enough hands to move efficiently without paying for people standing around waiting on the next box.
Parking and Building Rules
Street parking in the city and complex rules in the suburbs can slow a move down. We ask about loading areas, move-in hours and any management requirements up front and plan the truck position around them. If your building has special requirements, share them with our office when you book so the crew arrives prepared.
College Move Weekends
Student moves around Carlisle, Gettysburg, York and Lancaster County tend to land on the same few weekends. We handle college and dorm moves and help families book early so the date is set. If plans change once grades or leases are finalized, there is never a rescheduling fee.
Winter Stairs and Sidewalks
An icy walkway outside a walk-up is a real hazard with a couch in your hands. When snow and ice hit south-central Pennsylvania, our crews take extra care on outside steps and lay down floor protection inside, so the hallway and your new unit stay clean and nobody gets hurt.
Backed by the Owners
Our Owner’s Promise means you talk to an owner, not a call center. If anything is damaged, an owner calls you the same day, and claims are resolved in 60 to 90 days. A $100 deposit holds your date and is applied to the move, with cards and checks accepted.
