Chester Springs is northern Chester County at its most scenic: rolling farmland, stone houses, covered bridges, and a historic spa village that has served as a Revolutionary War hospital, an art school campus and a movie studio. It is not a town with its own government. It is an unincorporated community and post office centered on West Pikeland Township, and its 19425 ZIP code reaches into several neighboring townships.
Chester Springs suits families who want top-rated schools, space and a country feel while staying within reach of Exton, Malvern and King of Prussia. It is one of the most affluent areas in the county, and most homes are single-family houses on generous lots, from historic farmhouses to newer subdivisions. If you’re looking for a quiet setting with good access to the region’s job centers, it is worth a close look.

By almost any measure this is one of the most affluent and highly educated parts of the region. The ZIP area’s per capita income is $80,898, nearly four in five adults hold at least a bachelor’s degree, and the median household income is roughly two and a half times the national figure. The longer average commute, 30.5 minutes, reflects how spread out the area is.
One thing to keep in mind when comparing numbers: the 19425 ZIP area includes very different settings, from historic villages and farms to newer subdivisions. A single median can hide a lot of variety, so look at the specific township and neighborhood before drawing conclusions. The ZIP area covers about 26.8 square miles for roughly 17,000 people, which works out to a much lower density than the county’s boroughs and gives most neighborhoods plenty of breathing room.

Moving to Chester Springs: Tips From Our Crew
- Tell us about your driveway. Long, steep or gravel driveways and narrow country lanes are common here. If a full-size truck can’t get close, we may need a smaller shuttle vehicle, and it’s much better to plan for that than to find out on moving day.
- Know your township. Chester Springs covers several townships, each with its own trash service, permits and rules. Find out which one your new home is in before you set up utilities and trash.
- Check HOA rules in newer neighborhoods. Many newer subdivisions have HOA rules about move hours, truck parking and storage containers. Get them in writing before you book.
- Watch for winter road conditions. Back roads can stay icy after the main roads are clear. For winter moves, have your driveway plowed and salted and keep a backup date.
- Protect historic homes. Older farmhouses and stone homes often have low ceilings, narrow stairs and original floors. Let us know so our crew can bring extra padding and plan the path through the house.
- Consider storage if closings don’t line up. In a fast market, closing dates often don’t match. Our storage service can hold your belongings until your new home is ready.
